Campaign Weekend
May 9th and 10th 2009
Our first event was the May 2009 Campaign Weekend held at
Warhammer World
in Nottingham. This was the first time that we were responsible for organising a
Campaign Weekend and as you can imagine, we were a little apprehensive. We
needn't have worried. The turn out was an impressive 70 and there were several
campaigns to suit many tastes.

Warmaster was well represented and we even had room for a demonstration game of
the forthcoming Warmaster Napoleonic. For the WAB players, there were several
campaigns to choose from including Punic, Crusaders and Vlad.
For those who like things a little more modern, there was a Great War campaign
covering the early years of the conflict.
We tried a few new things out this time including the Saturday evening quiz in
Bugmans which proved very popular.
Support from our sponsors was fantastic and enabled us to give away plenty of
prizes. We even tried a spot prize before we got under way where those players
who had been issued specially marked meal tokens were given a prize. It helped
get the weekend off to a good start.
We should also mention the generosity of the players themselves. Steve May of
Immortal Miniatures donated three prizes including a 1000 point (WAB) Assyrian
army for a special charity raffle. Due to my short sightedness, I bought a book
of 250 raffle tickets. Well, we could have sold them twice over, such was the
demand. However, we still managed to raise £250 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Well done guys !
All things considered it was a great success !
Our next Campaign Weekend will be on
October 24th and 25th 2009.
See you there ?
