Campaign Weekends
What is a Campaign Weekend ?
Simply put, "It's NOT about the competition !"
There is no top table or
swiss system.
Yes we are competing. After all we are playing wargames where typically there is
a winner. Anyone who does that often enough might even get themselves some
goodies.
Primarily though, it's about bringing your soldiers to
Warhammer World and
taking part in a themed campaign. For example, if you were to enter into the
Punic campaign, then you will be one of a group of people who will be fielding
armies as one of the main protaganists of that conflict.
When did you last see
both players smiling ?
The venue is perfect and
Bugmans just has to be the best bar for a wargamer to
relax in.
If you have been to a Campaign Weekend before (and many entrants are repeat
offenders) then you know what to expect.
If you haven't then you must !
WAB-GT
What is the WAB-GT ?
Unlike the campaign weekend, the WAB GT is definately a competition, however
each year a different period is chosen so as to avoid any rediculous match ups
that open events often produce.
WAB GT 2009
was medieval. Continuing with our period specific theme, WAB GT 2010 saw us go right back to Biblical. Well, Chariot Wars and some
contemporaries. Next year, the WAB GT 2011 will move forward in history to the
Classic period. Expect to see plenty of Greeks, Persians etc.
Congratualations to Malcolm Barnfield. Our WAB GT 2010 winner.

In response to popular demand, we have uploaded everyone's
army lists from the WAB GT 2009 and
WAB GT 2010 events. That's almost 70 army lists to download and use ! Download them here.
Our next WAB GT will be on February 26th and 27th 2011.
